Mystical afternoon spent roaming the Hoh Rain Forest on a rainy day of course. Layers of life in the air & on the ground nurture & revive. The Hoh River is massive & strong born from Mt. Olympus & runs to the Pacific Ocean.

The King of the Hoh Rain Forest sits on the Spruce Wooden Throne. It was a rainy day so we embraced it by throwing on the rain gear and hiking in one of the wettest parts of #olympicnationalforest. Crazy beautiful walk to Split Rock and Hole in the Wall despite the high tide & rain. The rough terrain, walking over thousands of stones & climbing around driftwood & downed trees was stimulating. First full day @olympicnationalpark included the S

First full day @olympicnationalpark included the Spruce Railroad trail along Crescent Lake and then checking out the Crescent Lake Lodge with vistas of Pyramid Mtn and Mt. Storm King. We also took a short trail to Sol Duc Falls along the Sol Duc River. Unfortunately, Hurricane Ridge & Elwha River areas are closed so we’re heading to La Push/Rialto Beach next. Impressive 1,000,000+ acres of mountains, rivers, lakes & beaches to experience. Love taking a deeper dive into the greater Seattle area & NW. #washington #nw #pug #hiking #halloween

The magic of a season’s first snow, knowing summer is behind us represents change & transition. I’m all for it! The Tom, Dick & Harry trail was challenging & delightful as temps dropped & the snow ❄️ started to fall. It was a 7.8 mile loop past Mirror Lake to the ridge overlooking Skibowl with 1685’ elevation. Mt. Hood was hiding today, but the trade off for first snow in October for us was a worthy tradeoff. May need to return to Mt. Hood National Forest on a clear day for big vistas. #oregon #hiking #trails #puglove

The trail is groomed, easy & follows along Fall Creek, among the trees at first & then opens into a meadow and the surrounding peaks. Terrific hike today on the Tam McArthur Rim Trail

Terrific hike today on the Tam McArthur Rim Trail which was 5.6 miles round trip from Three Creek Lake to the overlooking ridge with 1200’ elevation gain & a nice payoff at the top—sweeping views of Sisters Peaks, Mt. Bachelor, 3 Creek Lake, Broken Top, with Bend & Redmond & even Mt. Hood in the distance. The trail was easy but the climb will raise the heart rate & burn your quads! Oregon keeps delivering! #hiking #oregon #trails

Took advantage of a clear day to hike a 5 mile tra

Took advantage of a clear day to hike a 5 mile trail at Smith Rock State Park. There was a relentless vertical climb of 900’ in a little over a mile that got our hearts racing. The payoff was lunch with a view of Crooked Creek that meanders around these volcanic rock structures that are a climbers paradise 🧗‍♂️ (not for us). There is a longer loop that incorporates Summit Trail but we kept to Misery & River Trails. All in all, this is another tremendous Oregon State Park that has a lot to offer. #hiking #climbing #dogsallowed #oregon

Awe inspiring hike along the Oregon Coast on the Indian Beach Trail w breathtaking views of the ocean. Fun to do this 3.8 out and back trail with 873’ of elevation change with good friends @nmcdan1 & @mcdaniel3340 Darby enjoyed the scenery & might have been a good extra in one of the movie scenes that have been shot here like Goonies, Point Break & Twilight. #oregoncoast #hiking #friends #oregon
